Georgian Silver Seal by Hester Bateman

This Georgian silver wax seal was crafted by the Queen of the Georgian silversmiths Hester Bateman. Seals such as this one were once a traditional part of any well-appointed gentleman’s secretarial desk, used routinely in official correspondence to stamp a wax seal bearing personal insignia.
